Women across New York city can agree that street harassment can be a daily part of our lives. It is astonishing that women all across the world face similar inequality of public space. Just take a look at all these organizations looking to make a difference world wide. A look, a remark, or a grin can make you cringe with discomfort. It should be noted that women are not the only ones on who face street harassment. LGBTQ folks face gender based discrimination on the streets everywhere in the world.

It is also important to note that one motto or mission is not applicable to all groups. We must be sensitive to how people of different demographics can embrace or refuse a slogan, a word, or accomplishment.
